Project diffusion: The new frontier of clean energy in the Lazio Region
Translated from an article in Italian published on “Il Corriere Laziale” 28/01/2010.
The presentation of three European projects on sustainable energy in which the Direction for Environment and Cooperation among Peoples is partner, was held in the premises of Lazio region, in the Tevere Room, yesterday. The three projects deal with regional programming for sustainable energy (More4Energy), application of solar thermal obligations (Pro-STO) and know-how transfer among administrations on energy auditing and benchmarking (SEC-Bench). To the event took part the regional Ministry for Environment and Cooperation among Peoples of Lazio Region, Mr. Filiberto Zaratti, the Director of Territory Department, Dr. Raniero De Filippis, the Director for Environment and Cooperation among Peoples. Arch. Giovanna Bargagna and the Head of the Unit named “Planning of rational use of energy and use of renewable energies”, Dr. Iosella Bruschi. Even other speakers working in the regional administrations intervened in the conference. Regional municipalities involved in the projects participated in the conference: Monte Porzio Catone, through the dr. Frnaco Capone, Pomezia, through the Arch. Andrea Anzellotti, Vallepietra, through the major Dr. Calmieri. “The solar thermal is one of the most mature technologies for a generalized application but hardly succeed in spreading, even at European level…and it is perceived as the poorest sister amongst the renewable energies, nonetheless it has been defined by the EU as the sleeping giant due to its potentialities” - Mr. Zaratti argued - while talking about the new frontiers of environmental technologies. This is an argument on which a brainstorming with Europe may facilitate the diffusion path of advanced systems of energy saving using natural and alternative sources. To implement this a multi-level action is required stretching from the implementation of such systems in the new building to the easy access to incentives for citizens, the administrative simplification, the continuous and hammering communication on economic and environmental advantages which imply the adoption of such systems. The Conference offered the participants the opportunity to engage in a constructive speech on solar thermal on a regional level, there will be positive impacts in the next future.
